AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, the export value of fruit and vegetables of Vietnam in February of 2023 reached about 324 million USD, up by 53.1% compared to February of 2022.

In the first two months of 2023, the export value of vegetables and fruits reached about 565 million USD, up by 12.4% over the same period of 2022.
According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), fruit and vegetable exports grew positively in the first two months of 2023 in the context of a sharp drop in many key export products. In particular, the good growth of export value to the Chinese market is the main factor promoting the positive growth of the fruit and vegetable industry.
In the first two months of 2023, the country’s exports of vegetables and fruits to the Chinese market reached 320.5 million USD, up by 25.3% over the same period in 2022, accounting for 56.7% of the total export value of vegetables and fruits. The removal of China's "Zero Covid" policy has helped Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports to this market regain its growth momentum.
In the first 2 months of 2023, the exports of fruit and vegetables to other markets also grew significantly, such as to South Korea reaching 27 million USD, up by 12.4% over the same period of 2022; to Japan reached 23.3 million USD, up by 17%; to the Netherlands reached 19.8 million USD, up by 69.9%.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in order to maintain growth, fruit and vegetable exporters need to proactively meet increasingly stringent standards of the import markets.
