Pepper export price increased sharply by 68%

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first two months of 2025, average export price of Vietnam's pepper reached 6,763 USD/tonne, up 68% over the same period in 2024.
According to data from Customs Department, Vietnam's pepper exports in February 2025 reached 14,300 tonnes, worth 97.2 million USD, up 10.7% in volume and 11% in value compared to January 2025; up 7.2% in volume and 79.1% in value compared to February 2024. In the first two months of 2024, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 27,200 tonnes, worth 184.4 million USD, down 11.6% in volume but up 48.5% in value compared to the same period in 2024. In February 2025, Vietnam's average pepper export price reached 6,774 USD/tonne, up 0.3% compared to January 2025 and up 67.1% compared to February 2024. In the first two months of 2025, average export price of Vietnam's pepper reached 6,763 USD/tonne, up 68% over the same period in 2024.
In February 2025, Vietnam's pepper exports to key markets fluctuated in opposite direction compared to February 2024, in which exports to the largest market, the United States, decreased by 21.5% in volume but increased by 40.5% in value; On contrary, exports to German market increased by 73.6% in volume and 166.6% in value. In addition, pepper exports to a number of other markets increased such as: Korea, UK, Thailand, Philippines...Although Vietnam's pepper exports in February 2025 to markets fluctuated in volume, export value still increased to most markets due to high prices.
In general, in the first two months of 2025, Vietnam's pepper exports to many markets decreased in volume compared to the same period in 2024, of which, exports to the US market decreased by 32.5%; India decreased by 21.9%; the Netherlands decreased by 40.4%...On contrary, amount of pepper exported to some markets increased such as Germany, South Korea, UK...
