AsemconnectVietnam - In 2024, Vietnam’s iron and steel exports of all kinds reached over 12.62 million tonnes, earning over 9.08 billion USD, with an average price of 719.5 USD/tonne.

According to calculations from preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, in December of 2024, the whole country exported 727,303 tonnes of iron and steel, earning 532.54 million USD, with an average price of 732.2 USD/tonne, down by 17.2% in volume, down by 10.8% in turnover but up by 7.7% in price compared to November of 2024.
In 2024, the total export of iron and steel of all kinds reached over 12.62 million tonnes, earning over 9.08 billion USD, with an average price of 719.5 USD/tonne, up by 13.5% in volume, up by 8.8% in turnover but down by 4.1% in price compared to 2023.
In 2024, the US was the largest consumer market for iron and steel from Vietnam, accounting for 13.2% of the total volume and 14.5% of the total export turnover of iron and steel of the whole country, reaching 1.67 million tonnes, equivalent to 1.32 billion USD, with an average price of 789.7 USD/tonne, up by 55% in volume, up by 54.8% in turnover but down slightly by 0.12% in price compared to 2023.
The second largest market was the Italian market, accounting for 10.3% of the total volume and 8.9% of the total turnover, reaching 1.3 million tonnes, equivalent to 808.81 million USD, price 624 USD/tonne, down by 17.9% in volume, down by 25.3% in turnover and down by 9% in price compared to 2023. The next was the Cambodian market accounts for 9.5% of the total volume and 8.2% of the total turnover, reaching 1.2 million tonnes, equivalent to 740.5 million USD, with the price of 615.9 USD/tonne, up by 11.8% in volume, up by 2.7% in turnover but down by 8.1% in price compared to 2023.
