AsemconnectVietnam - The General Statistics Office assessed that industrial production in October of 2024 continued its positive trend, with an estimated increase of 4% over the previous month and 7% over the same period last year.

In the first 10 months of 2024, the industrial production index of the entire industry was estimated to increase by 8.3% over the same period last year.
The industrial production index (IIP) of the entire industry in October of 2024 was estimated to increase by 4.0% over the previous month and by 7% over the same period last year.
In particular, compared to the same period last year, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 8.8%; the electricity production and distribution industry increased by 6.0%; water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities increased by 6.9%; the mining industry alone decreased by 10.4%.
In the first 10 months of 2024, IIP was estimated to increase by 8.3% over the same period last year. Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 9.6%; the electricity production and distribution industry increased by 10.3%; the water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities increased by 9.5%; the mining industry alone decreased by 7.2%.
Notably, the industrial production index for the first 10 months of 2024 compared to the same period last year increased in 59 localities and decreased in 4 localities nationwide. Some localities had a fairly high increase in IIP due to the high increase in the processing and manufacturing industry; electricity production and distribution industry; and mining industry.
On the contrary, some localities had low or decreasing IIP index due to low or decreasing growth in the processing and manufacturing industry and electricity production and distribution industry.
Some key industrial products in the first 10 months of 2024 increased compared to the same period last year: steel bars and angle steel increased by 21.8%; gasoline increased by 17.6%; rolled steel increased by 16.4%; automobiles increased by 15.8%; natural fiber textiles increased by 15%; diameter increased by 14.5%; powdered milk increased by 12.8%; NPK mixed fertilizer increased by 11.5%.
On the contrary, some products decreased compared to the same period last year: natural gas decreased by 17.3%; liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) decreased by 14.6%; coal (clean coal) decreased by 5.9%; crude oil decreased by 5.8%; mobile phones decreased by 5.6%; beer decreased by 2.6%; aluminum decreased by 1.9%.
