Vietnam - Pakistan trade exchange in first 7 months of 2024
Tuesday, August 20,2024AsemconnectVietnam - According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, the total two-way turnover between Vietnam and Pakistan in the first 7 months of 2024 reached nearly 483.7 million USD, an increase of 41.2% over the same period of 2023.
In particular, Vietnam's goods exports to Pakistan reached over 269.3 million USD in the first 7 months of 2024, an increase of 25.2% over the first 7 months of 2023.
Goods imported from Pakistan into Vietnam reached nearly 214.4 million in the first 7 months of 2024, an increase of 68.3% over the first 7 months of 2023. In July of 2024 alone, the turnover increased by 53.9% over June of 2024, reaching over 34.3 million USD and an increase of 123.6% over the same month of the year 2023.
Thus, the total two-way turnover between Vietnam and Pakistan in the first 7 months of 2024 reached nearly 483.7 million USD, an increase of 41.2% over the same period in 2023. Vietnam's trade surplus with the Pakistani market in the first 7 months of 2024 reached 54.9 million USD, while in the first 7 months of 2023, Vietnam's trade surplus with the Pakistani market reached 87.7 million USD.

In 2023, the total two-way turnover between Vietnam and Pakistan reached over 705.3 million USD, a decrease of 22% compared to 2022; in which Vietnam exported to Pakistan 386.5 million USD, down by 35.6% and imported from this market 318.7 million USD, up by 5%. Thus, Vietnam's trade surplus with the Pakistani market in 2023 reached 67.8 million USD, down by 77.1%.
Vietnam's main export items to Pakistan in the first 7 months of 2024
In the first 7 months of 2024, the group of items leading the export turnover to the Pakistani market was phones of all kinds and components, reaching 78.6 million USD, up by 176.4% over the same period last year, accounting for 29.1% of the proportion. The next was the group of textile fibers and yarns of all kinds reaching 48.8 million USD, up by 67.8%, accounting for 18.1% of the proportion. In third place was tea with 46.9 million USD, up by 6.3%, accounting for 17.4% of the proportion.
In the first 7 months of 2024, some items had export turnover growth compared to the same period last year, such as pepper increased by 178.6%; rubber increased by 81.1%; aquatic products increased by 57.9%; iron and steel products increased by 109%; cassava and cassava products increased by 111.7%. The total two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Pakistan in the first 7 months of 2024 reached nearly 483.7 million USD, an increase of 41.2% over the same period of 2023.
Main items imported by Vietnam from Pakistan in the first 7 months of 2024
In the first 7 months of 2024, the group of fabrics of all kinds ranked first in terms of import turnover from Pakistan, reaching over 28.2 million USD, accounting for 13.1% of the total import turnover of all kinds of goods from this market, an increase of 1.2% over the first 7 months of 2023.
The group of raw materials for textiles, leather, and footwear imported from Pakistan ranked second in terms of turnover, reaching 17.8 million USD, accounting for 8.3% of the total turnover, an increase of 6.6%.
