 Saturday, May 25,2024

AsemconnectVietnam - PV Power said that in April, electricity demand increased in all three regions, and the average total market electricity price also increased compared to the first months of the year, helping to achieve good growth results.

According to the estimated April business results of PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power - code POW), the Company recorded an estimated total revenue of VND3,278 billion, an increase of 25% over the same period last year and Exceeded 38% of monthly plan.
PV Power said that April is the end of the dry season in the South, the beginning of the dry season in the Central region, and the beginning of the hot season in the North. Average temperatures increased, causing intense heat across the country. The demand for electricity consumption has increased in all three regions, especially in Ho Chi Minh City for many days, exceeding the historical peak of electricity consumption. Accordingly, electricity generation output is estimated to reach more than 1,712 million kWh. The average full market electricity price (FMP) in April also increased compared to the first months of the year, expected to reach about 1,745 VND/kWh.
Regarding the specific operating situation of the plants, at Ca Mau 1&2 power plant, PV Gas's actual gas supply capacity currently meets operating requirements. With favorable market electricity prices, the power plant offers operating prices that maximize output and efficiency.
At Vung Ang 1 power plant, because the average total market price is higher than the coal fuel conversion cost, the plant offered high operating output and profit in April.
Meanwhile, due to limited gas resources in the Southeast region, Nhon Trach 1 power plant is not considered and regulated for operation. Nhon Trach 2 power plant offers operating prices to maximize output and efficiency due to high market prices.
For hydropower, at Hua Na power plant, the plant offers an operating price that optimally balances profits and retains water for the hot season operation period at high market prices. At Dakdrinh power plant, the plant balances operating prices to meet assigned QC, giving priority to operating large output in cycles with high market prices.
In May, PV Power targets electricity output to reach 1,551 million kWh and revenue to reach VND2,955 billion.
