DAILY: Vietnamese pepper prices remained unchanged on October 23
Monday, October 23,2023AsemconnectVietnam - On Monday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands remained unchanged at VND67,500 to VND71,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.vn.
In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the maximum price for pepper stayed at VND70,500 per kg, while in Gia Lai province, the lowest price at VND67,500 per kg. Farmers in Binh Phuoc sold pepper for VND70,000 per kilogram, in Dong Nai province for VND68,500 per kilogram, and in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces for VND69,000 per kilogram.
It is currently the end of the rainy season in the Central Highlands - one of the two key pepper growing regions in Vietnam. At this time, large amounts of water and high air humidity directly affect the growth and development of pepper farms. This is the stage when the tree is susceptible to pest attacks, directly affecting the growth of the tree.
Gardeners need to provide nutrition for pepper plants by adding mineral fertilizer containing high potassium content, helping the fruit develop evenly. Bio-organic fertilizer products are highly recommended to enhance absorption ability. nutrition and crop productivity.
Besides, pruning farms growing spine trees to create ventilation, create favorable conditions for pepper to grow and develop, and limit pests and diseases. Some pests such as black pepper bugs, aphids, mosquito bugs... are considered dangerous diseases, so farmers should act immediately to completely eliminate them to ensure productivity and quality of pepper plants.
According to initial estimates, next year's crop will have lower yields. The market is currently slowing down in the context of a rising USD and high inflation.
However, because the amount of pepper in the population is not much, the price reduction is not large. Regarding pepper price developments in the short term, experts say it is unlikely there will be strong fluctuations in the context of cash flow into coffee.
