10 commodity groups with export turnover decreased by more than 500 million USD in 7 months
Wednesday, August 30,2023AsemconnectVietnam - The exports of many key commodity groups fell deeply, some of which decreased by billions of USD compared to the same period last year.
According to information announced by the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's goods exports in the first 7 months of the year reached 195.42 billion USD, down by 10.3% (equivalent to 22.5 billion USD) compared to the same period last year.
Up to 38/45 key commodity groups saw a decrease in export turnover compared to the same period last year. Notably, there were 10 commodity groups with a turnover of over 500 million USD.
In which, 7 groups reduced by "billion dollars", including: phones and components down by 5.27 billion dollars; textile and garment decreased by 3.24 billion USD; wood and wood products decreased by 2.57 billion USD; footwear of all kinds decreased by 2.44 billion USD; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts decreased by 2.31 billion USD; seafood products decreased by 1.7 billion USD; computers, electronic products and components decreased by 1.08 billion USD.
The remaining groups of goods were: textile fibers of all kinds, reduced by 645 million USD; iron and steel of all kinds decreased by 635 million USD; plastic products decreased by 548 million USD.
A few groups of goods saw good growth compared to the same period last year were: vegetables and fruits increased by 1.16 billion USD; means of transport and spare parts increased by 1.09 billion USD; rice increased by 625 million USD.
Among the main export markets of Vietnam such as the United States, China, South Korea, Japan, the EU, etc., the exports to China saw increase, while the largest market was the United States saw a decrease of 20.8%.
