AsemconnectVietnam - On Wednesday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands rose by 500 VND to VND69,000 to VND72,500 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.vn.

In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the maximum price for pepper increased to VND72,500 per kg, while in Gia Lai province, the lowest price to VND69,000 per kg. Farmers in Binh Phuoc sold pepper for VND71,500 per kilogram, in Dong Nai province for VND70,000 per kilogram, and in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces for VND70,500 per kilogram.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 8 months of 2023, the export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products was estimated at USD4.36 billion, down 6.5% over the same period last year; in which, agricultural products 2.16 billion USD, up 11.5%; animal husbandry USD50 million, up 24%; seafood $750 million, down 24%; forest products 1.19 billion USD, down 21.5%.
Some groups of products with increased export value such as: Agricultural products reached 16.9 billion USD, up 11.5%. In which, the export value of vegetables and fruits is 3.45 billion USD, up 57.5%; rice 3.17 billion USD, up 36.1%; cashew nuts USD 2.23 billion, up 8.9%; coffee 2.94 billion USD, up 2.3%. Livestock products reached 325 million USD, up 26.1%.
However, the average export prices of some major agricultural products still fell, such as: Rubber down 19.6%; tea decreased by 2.6%; cashew nuts down 3.6%; pepper decreased by 26.5%; cassava and cassava products down 6.4%.
Concerns about the economic recession and pressure on loan interest rates made importers limit the accumulation of goods, making the world's export pepper price still in a prolonged state of sluggishness.
