Exports reached over 30 billion USD/month for first time in 2023
Friday, August 11,2023AsemconnectVietnam - In July of this year, Vietnam’s exports reached 30.07 billion USD, up by 2.1% from the previous month and the first month since the beginning of 2023 to achieve this figure.
According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, in July of 2023, the total import-export turnover of Vietnam reached 57.07 billion USD, up by 2.3% compared to the previous month. In which, the exports reached 30.07 billion USD, up by 2.1% and the imports reached 27 billion USD, up by 2.4%.
Notably, July was the first month in 2023 that the country's export turnover reached 30 billion USD or more/month.
In the first 6 months of the year, March was the month with the highest export turnover, but it reached only 29.71 billion USD, while the lowest month was in January with 23.61 billion USD.
Although there was an upward trend, but in general, in the first 7 months of the year, import and export turnover of the whole country was still gloomy compared to the same period last year.
In the first 7 months of the year, Vietnam's total import-export turnover reached 374.36 billion USD, down by 13.8% (equivalent to 60.14 billion USD) compared to the same period last year.
In which, the country’s total exports reached 195.42 billion USD, down by 10.3% (equivalent to 22.5 billion USD) and the imports reached 178.94 billion USD, down by 17.4% (equivalent to 37.64 billion USD decrease).
