Imports of animal feed and materials in first 7 months of 2019
Thursday, August 22,2019AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam imported 323 million USD worth of animal feed and materials in July of this year, increased by 7.26 per cent over the previous month and by 39.58 per cent in value over the same month of last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
It was followed by the U.S with over 37 million USD in July, up by 8.24 per cent month – on – month and down by 23.38 per cent over the same month of last year. The figure brought the country’s total imports of animal feed and materials from the U.S in the first 7 months of this year to over 362 million USD, down by 1.92 per cent year – on – year.
Meanwhile, the imports animal feed and materials from Brazil reached over 13 million USD in July, up by 22.87 per cent month – on – month and by 96.74 per cent year – on – year. The total imports of animal feed and materials from Brazil in the first 7 months of this year reached over 141 million USD, decreased by 51.84 per cent year – on – year.
In the first 7 months of this year, Vietnam spent over 2.2 billion USD on importing animal feed and materials, down by 0.32 per cent over the same period last year.

In the first 7 months of this year, the imports of wheat from Russia decreased by 88.34 per cent in quantity and by 85.76 per cent in value year – on - year, while the imports from the U.S decreased by 26.6 per cent in quantity and 26.68 per cent in value; and from Australia – down by 29.2 per cent in quantity and 22.32 per cent in value. Meanwhile, the imports from Canada increased by 23.1 per cent in quantity and 24.97 per cent in value compared with the same period last year. However, the imports from Brazil increased sharply by 10.98 per cent in quantity and 41.36 per cent in value over the same period last year.
Soybean: Vietnam’s imports of soybean reached 68,000 tons worth of over 28 million USD in July and over 402,000 tons in the first 7 months of this year, decreased by 9.42 per cent in value compared with the same period of 2018.
Corn: The imports of corn reached over 763,000 tons worth of 153 million USD in July and over 5.3 million tons worth of over 1.1 billion USD in the first 7 months of this year, decreased by 1.83 per cent in quantity but increased by 0.4 per cent in value compared with the same period of 2018.
