Trade revenue of several items in ten months

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the figures of the General Department of Customs, the trade revenue of several items of Vietnam saw year – on – year increase in the first ten months of this year.

Followings were the imports and exports of several items mentioned above in the ten month period.
Telephones and components:
Vietnam exported $4.75 billion worth of telephones and components in October and $41.44 billion in the first ten months of this year, up by 12.6 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.

The main export markets of telephones and components in the first ten months of this year were EU (28 countries) with $11.3 billion, up by 9.5 per cent year – on – year; China with $7.22 billion, up by 83.2 per cent; the U.S - $4.73 billion, up by 46.8 per cent; South Korea - $3.78 billion, up by 15.4 per cent.
Vietnam imported over $1.68 billion worth of telephones and components in October and $12.68 billion in the first ten months of this year, down by 0.9 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.
The main import markets of telephones and components in the period were China with $6.94 billion, up by 4.6 per cent year – on – year; and South Korea - $4.89 billion, down by 1.4 per cent.

Textiles and garments:
The country’s export of textiles and garments hit $2.73 billion in October, up by 1.2 per cent month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total export of textiles and garments in the first ten months of this year to $25.17 billion, up by 17.1 per cent year – on - year.
In the first ten months of this year, the country’s exports of textiles and garments to the U.S reached $11.45 billion, up by 12.3 per cent; to the EU (28 countries) –$3.4 billion, up by 11.3 per cent; and to Japan –$3.13 billion, up by 24.7 per cent.
Vietnam’s imports of fabrics of all kinds reached over $1.15 billion in October and $10.56 billion in the first ten months of this year, increased by 14 per cent over the same period of 2017.

The major import markets of fabrics of all kinds in the first ten months of this year were China with $5.87 billion, up by 18.7 per cent; South Korea - $1.77 billion, up by 7.5 per cent; and Taiwan (CN) - $1.36 billion, up by 3.6 per cent; and Japan - $607 million, up by 13.4 per cent.
Besides, the country’s imports of textile, garment, leather and footwear materials reached $524 million in October and $4.79 billion in the first ten months of this year, up by 5.2 per cent over the same period last year.
The major import markets of textile, garment, leather and footwear materials the first ten months of this year were China with the import value of $1.83 billion, up by 7.2 per cent; South Korea - $644 million, up by 2.5 per cent; Taiwan (CN) - $376 million, down by 9.5 per cent year – on – year.

Computers, electronic products and components:
Vietnam earned $2.84 billion from exports of computers, electronic products and components in October of 2018, up by 7.5 per cent compared with the previous month. The figure brought the country’s total exports of computers, electronics and components in the first ten months of this year to $24.42 billion, increased by 15.8 per cent compared with the same months of 2017.

The major export markets of computers, electronic products and components in the period were China with over $6.9 billion, up by 28.1 per cent year – on – year; the E.U (28 countries) – $4.57 billion, up by 20.8 per cent; the U.S - $2.38 billion, down by 15.6 per cent; South Korea - $2.13 billion, up by 46.4 per cent year – on - year.
The country spent over $3.88 billion for imports of computers, electronic products and components in October of 2018 and $34.69 billion in the first ten months of 2018, up by 13.5 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.
The major import markets of computers, electronic products and components in the first ten months of this year were South Korea with $14.29 billion, up by 14.2 per cent year – on – year; China - $6.26 billion, up by 9.6 per cent; Japan - $3.39 billion, up by 38.9 per cent.

Machines, equipment, tools and spare parts:
The country earned $1.5 billion from exports of machines, equipment, tools and spare parts in October and $13.67 billion in the first ten months of this year, up by 29.5 per cent over the same period last year.
The main export markets of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts in the first ten months of this year were the U.S with $2.71 billion, up by 34.9 per cent year – on – year; to the EU (28 countries) – $1.85 billion, up by 23.6 per cent; to India - $1.59 billion, up by 5.9 times; and to Japan - $1.52 billion, up by 7.6 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.

Iron and steel of all kinds:
Vietnam’s exports of iron and steel of all kinds hit 654,000 tons worth of $453 million in October, up by 13.6 per cent in quantity and 11.2 per cent in value compared with the previous month. The figure of the first ten months of this year was 5.24 million tons worth of $3.84 million, up by 38.4 per cent in quantity and 53.2 per cent in value year – on - year.

The major export markets of iron and steel of all kinds in the first ten months of this year were Cambodia with 1.1 million tons, up by 52.3 per cent; the U.S – 815,000 tons, up by 93.6 per cent; Indonesia – 527,000 tons, up by 9.3 per cent; Malaysia – 526,000 tons, up by 72.6 per cent; and EU (28 countries) – 446,000 tons, up by 29.2 per cent over the same period last year.

The country imported 1.13 million tons of iron and steel of all kinds worth of $853 million in October and 11.46 million tons worth of $8.36 billion in the first ten months of this year, down by 9.9 per cent in quantity but up by 10.9 per cent in value year – on - year.
In the first ten months of this year, the country imported 5.3 million tons of iron and steel of all kinds worth of nearly $3.83 billion from China, down by 13.1 per cent in quantity but up by 9.7 per cent in value year – on - year; from Japan – 1.86 million tons worth of $1.32 million, up by 0.4 per cent in quantity and by 16.7 per cent in value. The imports of iron and steel from South Korea in the first ten months of this year reached 1.45 million tons worth of $1.2 billion, up by 2.5 per cent in quantity and by 19.5 per cent in value.
