Trade revenue of some items in first nine months

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first nine months of this year, the trade revenue of several items, especially the leading items saw year – on – year increase, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

Telephones and components were leading the list of items exported by Vietnam in the first nine months of this year with the export turnover of nearly US$5.1 billion.

Meanwhile, computers, electronics and components were leading the list of items imported by the country in the first nine months of this year with the import value of $3.54 billion.

The following is the trade revenue of several items in the first nine months of this year:
Telephones and components: Vietnam exported $5.09 billion worth of telephones and components in September and $36.69 billion in the first nine months of this year, up by 16.4 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.

The main export markets of telephones and components in the first nine months of this year were EU (28 countries) with $10.14 billion, up by 10.9 per cent year – on – year; China with $5.78 billion, up by 2.4 times; the U.S - $4.16 billion, up by 43.7 per cent; South Korea - $3.34 billion, up by 17.1 per cent.

Vietnam also imported over $1.71 billion worth of telephones and components in September and $11 billion in the first nine months of this year, up by 1.1 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.
The main import markets of telephones and components in the period were China with $6.09 billion, up by 7.5 per cent year – on – year; and South Korea - $4.16 billion, up by 0.1 per cent.

Textiles and garments: The country’s export of textiles and garments hit $2.7 billion in September, down by 14.6 per cent month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total export of textiles and garments in the first nine months of this year to $22.45 billion, up by 16.5 per cent year – on - year.

In the first nine months of this year, the country’s exports of textiles and garments to the U.S reached $10.33 billion, up by 11.8 per cent; to the EU (28 countries) –$3.08 billion, up by 11.4 per cent; and to Japan –$2.8 billion, up by 24.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, Vietnam’s imports of fabrics of all kinds reached over $1 billion in September and $9.41 billion in the first nine months of this year, increased by 13.8 per cent over the same period of 2017.

The major import markets of fabrics of all kinds in the first nine months of this year were China with $5.2 billion, up by 18.4 per cent; South Korea - $1.6 billion, up by 7.3 per cent; and Taiwan (CN) - $1.2 billion, up by 2.5 per cent; and Japan - $539 million, up by 14 per cent.

The country’s imports of textile, garment, leather and footwear materials reached $471 million in September and $4.27 billion in the first nine months of this year, up by 4.5 per cent over the same period last year.

The major import markets of textile, garment, leather and footwear materials the first nine months of this year were China with the import value of $1.62 billion, up by 6.1 per cent; South Korea - $580 million, up by 1.4 per cent; Taiwan (CN) - $339 million, down by 10.2 per cent year – on – year.

Computers, electronic products and components: Vietnam earned $2.64 billion from exports of computers, electronic products and components in September of 2018, down by 8.9 per cent compared with the previous month. The figure brought the country’s total exports of computers, electronics and components in the first nine months of this year to $21.58 billion, increased by 16.3 per cent compared with the same months of 2017.

The major export markets of computers, electronic products and components in the period were China with over $6 billion, up by 28.8 per cent year – on – year; the E.U (28 countries) – $4.05 billion, up by 21.1 per cent; the U.S - $2.07 billion, down by 14.1 per cent; South Korea - $1.94 billion, up by 48.5 per cent year – on - year.

The country spent over $3.54 billion for imports of computers, electronic products and components in September of 2018 and $30.8 billion in the first nine months of 2018, up by 12.9 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.

The major import markets of computers, electronic products and components in the first nine months of this year were South Korea with $12.76 billion, up by 13.6 per cent year – on – year; China - $5.48 billion, up by 7.8 per cent; Japan - $ 2.94 billion, up by 34.5 per cent.

Machines, equipment, tools and spare parts: : The country earned $1.35 billion from exports of machines, equipment, tools and spare parts in September and $12.14 billion in the first nine months of this year, up by 29 per cent over the same period last year.

The main export markets of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts in the first nine months of this year were the U.S with $2.34 billion, up by 29.5 per cent year – on – year; to the EU (28 countries) – $1.63 billion, up by 24.7 per cent; to India - $1.48 billion, up by 5.9 times; and to Japan - $1.34 billion, up by 6.2 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.

Vietnam also imported $2.77 billion worth of machines, equipment, tools and spare parts in September and $24.58 billion in the first nine months of this year, down by 3.7 per cent year – on - year.
The main import markets of machines, equipment, tools and spare parts in the first nine months of this year were China with $8.65 billion, up by 5.7 per cent year – on – year; South Korea – $4.6 billion, down by 33.5 per cent; and Japan - $3.26 billion, up by 1.8 per cent over the same period of 2017.

Footwear of all kinds: The export of footwear of all kinds reached $1.17 billion in September and $11.74 billion in the first nine months of this year, up by 10.2 per cent year – on - year.
The country’s top export markets of footwear of all kinds in the first nine months of this year were the U.S with $4.27 billion, up by 13.5 per cent year – on – year; the E.U (28 countries) - $3.38 billion, up by 1.6 per cent; China –$1.06 billion, up by 28.5 per cent; and Japan - $634 million, up by 14.7 per cent year – on - year.

Iron and steel of all kinds: Vietnam’s exports of iron and steel of all kinds hit 576,000 tons worth of $407 million in September, down by 4.7 per cent in quantity and 5.5 per cent in value compared with the previous month. The figure of the first nine months of this year was 4.61 million tons worth of $3.39 million, up by 39.4 per cent in quantity and 55.6 per cent in value year – on - year.

The major export markets of iron and steel of all kinds in the first nine months of this year were Cambodia with 976,000 tons, up by 53.6 per cent; the U.S – 718,000 tons, up by 89.8 per cent; Indonesia – 452,000 tons, up by 9.6 per cent; Malaysia – 478,000 tons, up by 76.6 per cent; and EU (28 countries) – 431,000 tons, up by 48 per cent over the same period last year.

The country also imported 1.05 million tons of iron and steel of all kinds worth of $788 million in September and 10.34 million tons worth of $7.51 billion in the first nine months of this year, down by 10 per cent in quantity but up by 11.5 per cent in value year – on - year.

In the first nine months of this year, the country imported 4.8 million tons of iron and steel of all kinds worth of nearly $3.46 billion from China, down by 14.7 per cent in quantity but up by 9.1 per cent in value year – on - year; from Japan – 1.67 million tons worth of $1.18 million, down by 0.8 per cent in quantity but up by 15.6 per cent in value. The imports of iron and steel from South Korea in the first nine months of this year reached 1.31 million tons worth of $1.08 billion, up by 4.4 per cent in quantity and by 21.4 per cent in value.
