Export of handbags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas of Vietnam in the first 7 months of 2018 decreased by 0.4%

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's exports of handbags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas totaled $302 million in July, up 4.1 percent from the previous month and up 3, 99% compared to the same month last year.

Generally in the first seven months of 2018, Vietnam's exports of this item reached over $1.9 billion, down 0.43% over the same period last year.

United States - the largest market for bags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas in Vietnam with turnover in July 2018 reached over $123 million, accounting for 40.1% of the total turnover, up 22% over last month but down 11.64% over the same month last year; bringing total export turnover to this market to $722 million, down 11.44% over the same period last year. This was followed by Japan with $33 million, up 10.22% over the previous month and up 13.96% over the same month last year, accounting for 11% of total exports; bringing the total export turnover in the first 7 months of this year to $216 million, up 3.42% over the same period last year. Netherlands with over $23 million, down 25.98% over the previous month but up 6.06% over the same month last year, accounting for 7.7% of total turnover. Finally, China with $13 million, accounting for 4.4% of total turnover, down 1.23% over the previous month but up 23.83% over the same month last year; bringing the total export turnover to this market is up $92 million, up 10.98% over the same period last year.

Regarding the growth of export turnover of bags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas in the first seven months of 2018, the Czech Republic increased by 217.81% over the same period to over $4.4 million; Poland increased by 29.16% over the same period to over 6 million; Australia increased 26.14% over the same period to more than 32 million; followed by Belgium increased 14.17% over the same period to 467 million. However, some markets have decreased in value including Denmark with $4.3 million, down 41.59% over the same period last year, followed by Malaysia with over $5.2 million, down 22.54% over the same period, Singapore with over $9.4 million, down 16.83% over the same period last year, followed by Thailand with more than $7.3 million, down 14.61% over the same period.
