Ha Noi leads in attracting FDI
Wednesday, June 20,2018AsemconnectVietnam - It is the first time after 30 years the capital city of Ha Noi took the lead among localities nationwide in attracting the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) worth US$5.915 in the first half of 2018.
Chairman of Ha Noi’s People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung announced the information at Ha Noi 2018-Investment and Development Cooperation Conference held on June 17.
At the event, Ha Noi, provinces and cities in the North’s key economic region and the management board of Lang-Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, foreign and domestic investors inked 24 memorandum of understandings on cooperation and investment in a wide range of areas with the total investment of nearly VND70,000 billion.
The city also granted investment certificates for 71 projects, valued more than VND397,000 billion (equal to US$17 billion), including 11 FDI projects worth VND130,000 billion (or US$5 billion) and 60 ones invested by domestic investors worth VND267,000 billion.
In addition, the capital introduced 553 projects to investors and businesses, consisting of 161 projects on technical infrastructure development, 36 on social infrastructure development, 91 on service and tourism trading infrastructure development, 75 on clean and high-tech agriculture ones and 90 on real estate.
Mr. Chung affirmed that since August 1, 2018, Ha Noi will support all expenditures and utilities in the process of business establishment.
