Main items exported in first two months of 2018

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first two months of 2018, the exports of top ten items accounted for 72.4 per cent of the total, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

The leading items in the period were as followed:

Telephones and components:
Vietnam exported $ 3.4 billion worth of telephones and components in February and $ 7.33 billion in the first two months of this year, up by 56.6 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.
The main export markets of telephones and components in the period were EU (28 countries) with over $ 2 billion, up by 42 per cent year – on – year; China with $ 1.22 billion, up by 12 times; and South Korea - $ 797 million, up by 73 per cent.

Textiles and garments:
The country exported $ 1.63 billion worth of textiles and garments in February and $ 4.12 billion in the first two months of this year, up by 17.3 per cent year – on - year.
The leading export markets of textiles and garments in 2017 were the U.S with $ 1.96 billion, up by 15 per cent year – on – year; EU (28 countries) - $ 552 million, up by 13.7 per cent; Japan - $ 537 million, up by 23.3 per cent; and China - $ 177 million, up by 46.7 per cent compared with the previous year.

Computers, electronic products and components:
 Vietnam earned $ 1.72 billion from export of computers, electronic products and components in February of 2018, down by 27.4 per cent compared with the previous month. The figure brought the country’s total exports of computers, electronics and components in the first two months of this year to over $ 4.08 billion, increased by 22.7 per cent compared with the same months of 2017.
The major export markets of computers, electronic products and components in the period were China with $ 1.14 billion, up by 22.8 per cent year – on – year; the E.U - $ 762 million, up by 22.8 per cent; South Korea - $ 420 million, up by 83.8 per cent.

Footwear of all kinds
: The export of footwear of all kinds reached $ 837 million in February and $ 2.25 billion in the first two months of this year, up by 11.2 per cent year – on - year.
The country’s top export markets of footwear of all kinds in the first two months of this year were the U.S with $ 800 million, up by 22.6 per cent year – on – year; the E.U (28 countries) - $ 644 million, down by 1.2 per cent; China –$ 227 million, up by 29.7 per cent.

Machines, equipment, tools and spare parts:
 The country earned nearly $ 983 million from exports of machines, equipment, tools and spare parts  in February and $ 2.2 billion in the first two months of this year, up by 24 per cent over the same period last year.
The main export markets of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts in the first two months of this year were the U.S with $ 359 million, down by 5.3 per cent year – on – year; to the EU (28 countries) – $ 331 million, up by 42.2 per cent; and to Japan - $ 259 million, up by 6.3 per cent.

Means of transport and spare parts:
 The country’s exports of means of transport and spare parts hit $ 544 million in February, down by 28.5 per cent month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total export of means of transport and spare parts in the first two months of this year to $ 1.31 billion, up by 19.2 per cent year – on - year.
In the first two months, the country’s export of means of transport and spare parts to Japan reached $ 365 million, up by 15.8 per cent; to the U.S - $ 173 million, up by 28.7 per cent; and to India - $ 91 million, up by 54 folds over the same period last year.

Wood and furniture:
 The country’s exports of wood and furniture hit $ 437 million in February, down by 43.5 per cent month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total export of wood and furniture in the first two months of this year to $ 1.21 billion, up by 14.1 per cent year – on - year.
In the first two months, the country’s exports of wood and furniture to the U.S reached $ 474 million, up by 14.8 per cent; to China - $ 170 million, up by 8.7 per cent; and to Japan - $ 169 million, up by 8.5 per cent year – on - year.

Seafood:
 The country’s export of seafood hit $ 405 million in February, down by 39.5 per cent month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total export of seafood in the first two months of this year to $ 1.07 billion, up by 18.4 per cent year – on - year.
In the first two months of this year, the country’s export of seafood to EU reached $ 186 million, up by 23.3 per cent; the U.S – $ 165 million, up by 9 per cent; to Japan – $ 159 million, up by 7.4 per cent over the same period last year.

Cameras, camcorders and components
: The exports of cameras, camcorders and components reached $ 276 million in February and $ 769 million in the first two months of this year, up by 52.2 per cent over the same period last year.
The exports of cameras, camcorders and components to China in the first two months totaled $ 401 million, up by 32.2 per cent; and to Hong Kong reached $ 187 million, up by 46.5 per cent year – on – year.

Iron and steel of all kinds: Vietnam’s exports of iron and steel of all kinds hit 476,000 tons worth of $ 337 million, up by 6.7 in quantity and 4.9 per cent in value compared with the previous month. The figure of the first two months of this year was 920,000 tons worth of $ 655 million, up by 39.7 per cent in quantity and 59.2 per cent in value.
The major export markets of iron and steel of all kinds in the first two months of this year were Cambodia with $ 105 million, up by 70.8 per cent; the U.S - $ 104 million, up by 120 per cent; Indonesia - $ 93 million, up by 51.7 per cent.
