The country has exported rice to 132 countries and territories in the world, leading by China. In the first ten months of this year, Vietnam exported 2.03 million tons of rice to China, accounted for 40 per cent of the total and increased sharply by 35 per cent over the same period of 2016.

In the first ten months, the country’s exports of rice to the Philippines also increased sharply by 41.3 per cent year – on – year, while the exports to Malaysia – increased by 97.3 per cent; to Ivory Coast – up by 39.7 per cent.

The country’s total rice exports are expected to reach 5.9 to 6 million tons this year, up by 1.1 to 1.2 million tons compared with 2016.
