4.62 million tons of rice exported
Saturday, October 21,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam exported US$ 4.62 million tons of rice worth of US$ 2.04 million in the first nine months of this year, increased by 22 per cent in quantity and over 20 per cent in value over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
It was followed by the Philippines with 494,516 tons worth of $ 196.45 million, up by 153 per cent in quantity and over 135 per cent in value over the same period last year. And then Malaysia – 420,302 tons worth of $ 163.56 million, up by 108 per cent in quantity and 87 per cent in value.
The exports of rice to the South East Asian countries increased by 29 per cent in quantity and 22 per cent in value to 1.02 million tons worth of $ 409.71 million.
The exports of rice to Iraq also increased by 63 folds in quantity and 71 per cent in value; to Algeria – up by 336 per cent in quantity and 333 per cent in value; to Russia – up by 64 per cent in quantity and 59 per cent in value; to Ukraine – up by 88 per cent in quantity and 93 per cent in value.
However, the exports of rice to Indonesia, South Africa, Poland and Turkey decreased by 60 to 95 per cent compared with the same period of 2016.
