Exports of soft drink to South Korea increased
Saturday, October 14,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of soft drink to South Korea increased by 7 folds in the last 4 years as Koreans like tropical fruit juice.
According to the figures of Korean Agro-Fisheries Trade Corp (aT), South Korea has spent $ 250 million on importing soft drink in 2016, including $ 103.7 million worth of soft drink imported from Vietnam, up by 7.5 folds compared with 2012.
aT also said that Vietnamese soft drinks have become more popular in South Korea as Koreans like tropical fruit juice.
Besides, South Korea also imported $ 11 million worth of soft drinks from Thailand last year, increased sharply by 171 per cent compared with 2012.
At present, the U.S accounts for 30.2 per cent of the total soft drink market share in South Korea while Germany and China account for 6.7 per cent and 5.5 per cent, respectively.
South Korea has been the third largest trade partner of Vietnam after China and the U.S since the Vietnam – Korea Free Trade Agreement (VKFTA) came into force in December of 2015. In the first half of 2017 the total trade exchange between the two countries reached $ 29.1 billion, up by 45.5 per cent over the same period last year.
