Vietnam – Turkey trade exchange hit US$ 1.32 billion in 8 months

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures of Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK),the bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Turkey totaled US$ 1.32 billion in the first eight months of this year, increased sharply by 38.74 per cent over the same period of 2016.
The rise was attributed to the increasing exports of computers, electronics and components; and machines, equipment and spare parts; pepper; rubber and cell phones and accessories of Vietnam to Turkey.
In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of computers, electronics and components to Turkey rocketed by 448.27 per cent to $ 337.58 million, accounted for 28.52 per cent of the country’s total exports to Turkey.
The main items exported by Vietnam to Turkey were cell phones and accessories; computers, electronics and components; and fibers of all kinds.
In the period, the country’s exports of machines, equipment and spare parts to Turkey also increased sharply by 122.64 per cent; rubber – up by 70.79 per cent; pepper – up by 53.92 per cent; seafood – up by 49.37 per cent.

In the first eight months of this year, the country’s imports of machines, equipment and spare parts from Turkey also increased sharply by 89.53 per cent and accounted for 27.37 per cent of the total while the imports of fabric decreased by 15.1 per cent.
