Vietnam - Russia trade exchange expected to reach US$ 10 billion
Wednesday, May 24,2017AsemconnectVietnam - By the end of April, Vietnam has exported US$ 612.2 million worth of goods to Russia, increased by 28 per cent over the same period of 2016.
Cell phones and accessories were leading the list of items exported by the country to Russia in the period with the export turnover of $ 300.8 million, up by 43.2 per cent over the same period last year. It was followed by textiles and garments with $ 51.9 million, up by 146.47 per cent; coffee - $ 37.8 million, down by 18.14 per cent.
Meanwhile, the country’s exports of computers, electronics and components reached $ 33.5 million, up by 16.6 per cent; and footwear - $ 27.9 million, up by 10.82 per cent.
In the first four months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of rice to Russia rocketed by 2,354.48 per cent to $ 4.1 million while the exports of rubber to Russia were down by 5.73 per cent to $ 3.1 million.
Last year, the bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Russia reached $ 2.7 billion, up by 25 per cent over the previous year. The figure of the first four months of this year was up by 30 per cent year – on – year to $ 1.1 billion. The two countries are expected to raise the bilateral trade exchange to $ 10 billion in 2020.
