Export turnovers reach US$ 27.3 billion in two beginning months of the year

AsemconnectVietnam - Export turnovers were estimated to reach US$ 27.3 billion in two beginning months of the year, up 15.4% over the same period in 2016, of which the domestic economic sector achieved US$ 7.6 billion, a growth of 12.2%; the FDI sector (including crude oil) gained US$ 19.7 billion, 16.8% increase.

About the export market in two beginning months of this year, the United States was still the biggest export market of Vietnam with the turnover of US$ 6 billion, a rise of 18.9% compared to the last year’s same period. Followings were EU with US$ 5.4 billion, an increase of 13.2%; China with US$ 3.3 billion, up 36.4%; ASEAN with US$ 2.9 billion, up 15.9%; Japan with US$ 2.3 billion, a rise of 15.3%; South Korea with US$ 1.9 billion, a rise of 31.9%.
By the end of February, 10 top items had earned $ 19.5 billion in export turnover, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
 Cell phones and accessories: US$ 4.68 billion
Vietnam exported $ 1.19 billion worth of cell phones and accessories in February and $ 4.68 billion in the first 2 months of this year, equivalent to the same period last year ($ 4.7 billion).
Textiles and garments: US$ 3.53 billion
Vietnam’s exports of textiles and garments reached $ 842 million in February and $ 3.53 billion in the first 2 months of this year, up by 10.8 per cent or $ 275 million compared with the same period of 2016.
Computers and electronics: US$ 3.31 billion
In the first 2 months of 2017, the country earned $ 3.31 billion from exports of computers and electronics, up by 43.9 per cent year – on – year.
Footwear of all kinds: $ 2 billion
Vietnam’s exports of footwear of all kinds were at $ 2 billion in the first 2 months of this year, up by $ 200 million compared with the same period last year. In February only, the country earned $ 477 million from footwear exports.
Machines and equipment: US$ 1.79 billion
In the first two months of this year, Vietnam earned $ 1.79 billion from exports of machines and equipment, up by 39.8 per cent or $ 509 million compared with the same period last year.
Means of transport and spare parts: US$ 1 billion
The exports of means of transport and spare parts reached over $ 1 billion in the first two months of 2017, up by over $ 132 million or 17.8 per cent over the same period last year.
Seafood: US$ 915 million
The country’s exports of seafood totaled $ 915 million in the first two months of this year, up by 5 per cent year – on – year.
Coffee: $ 648 million
The exports of coffee reached $ 648 million in the first two months of this year, up by 28.8 per cent over the same period of 2016.
Cameras and camcorders: US$ 507 million
The country earned $ 507 million from exports of cameras and camcorders n the first two months of this year, up by 28.6 per cent year – on – year.
So in the first two months of 2017, 10 top items have earned $ 19.5 billion from exports.
