Vietnam’s auto sale and imports in January of 2017
Wednesday, March 1,2017AsemconnectVietnam - In the first month of 2017, Vietnam imported autos mostly from Thailand and Indonesia.
Vietnam imported 7,300 CBU autos worth of US$ 152.8 million in January, down by 49.88 per cent in quantity and 34.76 per cent in value compared with the last month of 2016, but up by 25.5 per cent in quantity and 4 per cent in value compared with the same month of last year, showed the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Thailand was leading the list of the country’s biggest auto import market in January of this year with 2,600 units worth of $ 51.7 million, down by 34.37 per cent in quantity and 27.81 per cent in value compared with the previous month.
It was followed by Indonesia with 1,800 units worth of $ 35.4 million, up by 1,183.8 per cent in quantity and 2,596.41 per cent in value; and India – over 1,000 units worth of $ 3.7 million, down by 80.65 per cent in quantity and 81.46 per cent in value.
The other big auto import markets were China, the U.S, the U.K, Japan and France.
