Major commodities imported in first 7 months of 2015
Tuesday, September 1,2015AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam imported US$ 95.29 billion worth of goods in the first seven months of this year, up by 16 per cent over the same period last year, according to the latest statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
The major commodities imported by the country in July and the first 7 months of this year included:
The import value of FDI enterprises was at $ 10.5 billion, up by 44.4 per cent while that of domestic enterprises reached $ 5.88 billion, up by 18.3 per cent.
The main import markets of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts in the first 7 months of this year were China with $ 5.29 billion, up by 25.6 per cent year – on – year; South Korea – $ 3.12 billion, up by 81 per cent; and Japan - $ 2.89 billion, up by 45.2 per cent; and Taiwan - $ 886 million, up by 17.6 per cent over the same period of 2014.
Computers, electronic products and components: Vietnam spent $ 1.96 billion for import of computers, electronic products and components in July and $ 13.14 billion in the first 7 months of this year, up by 35 per cent compared with the same months of 2014.
The major import markets of computers, electronic products and components in the period were South Korea with $ 3.89 billion, up by 38.9 per cent year – on – year; China - $ 2.82 billion, up by 17.2 per cent; Japan - $ 1.29 billion, up by 51.1 per cent; Singapore - $ 1.21 billion, down by 6.6 per cent; Taiwan - $ 1.16 billion, up by 72.1 per cent.
Cell phones and accessories: Vietnam imported nearly $ 861 million worth of cell phones and accessories in July and $ 5.22 billion in the first 7 months of this year, up by 32.1 per cent compared with the same months of 2014.
The main import markets of cell phones and accessories in the period were China with $ 3.35 billion, up by 18.2 per cent year – on – year; and South Korea - nearly $ 1.48 billion, up by 57.6 per cent.
Iron and steel of all kinds: The country imported 1.72 million tons of iron and steel of all kinds worth of $ 793 million in July and 8.43 million tons worth of $ 4.47 billion in the first 7 months of this year, up by 40.3 per cent in quantity and 10.5 per cent in value year – on - year.
Iron and steel products: The country imported over $ 347 million worth of iron and steel products in July and $ 2.41 billion in the first 7 months of this year, up by 45.5 per cent year – on - year.
The leading import markets of iron and steel products in the first 7 months of this year were China with over $ 846 million, up by 65.4 per cent year – on – year; and South Korea – $ 701 million, up by 92.6 per cent.
Petroleum of all kinds: The import of petroleum of all kinds totaled 5.93 million tons worth of $ 3.42 billion in the first 7 months of this year, up by 8.4 per cent in quantity and down by 34 per cent in value over the same period last year.
The country’s top import markets of petroleum of all kinds in the first 7 months of this year were Singapore with 2.64 million tons, up by 37.2 per cent year – on – year; Thailand – 978,000 tons, rocketed by 276 per cent; China – 914,000 tons, down by 5.3 per cent; and Taiwan – 656,000 tons, down by 23 per cent over the same period last year.
Plastics: The import of plastics totaled 328,000 tons worth of nearly $ 532 million in July and 2.13 million tons valued at $ 3.35 billion in the first 7 months of this year.
The country’s top import markets of plastics in the first 7 months of this year were South Korea with 359,000 tons, up by 18.4 per cent year – on – year; Saudi Arabia – 372,000 tons, down by 0.8 per cent; Taiwan – 270,000 tons, up by 13.6 per cent; and Thailand – 168,000 tons, up by 6.2 per cent over the same period last year.
Plastic products: The import of plastic products hit $ 349 million in July and $ 2.11 billion in the first 7 months of this year, up by 10.6 per year – on - year.
The major import markets of plastic products in the first 7 months of this year were South Korea with $ 620 million, up by 44.4 per cent year – on – year; China – $ 615 million, up by 34.6 per cent; and Japan - $ 354 million, up by 3.2 per cent.
Textile, garment, leather and footwear of all kinds materials: The country’s import of textile, garment, leather and footwear of all kinds materials reached $ 1.65 billion in July and $ 9.1 billion in the first 7 months of this year, up by 8.5 per cent over the same period last year.
The major import markets of textile, garment, leather and footwear of all kinds materials in the first 7 months of this year were China with $ 3.7 billion, up by 13.5 per cent year – on – year; South Korea – $ 1.37 billion, down by 2.5 per cent; and Taiwan – $ 1.19 billion, up by 6.6 per cent.
CBU automobile of all kinds: Vietnam imported 9,500 CBU automobile of all kinds worth of $ 208 million in July, down by 32.1 9 per cent. The figure brought the country’s total import of CBU automobile of all kinds in the first 7 months of this year to nearly 64,420 units valued at $ 1.71 billion, rose sharply by 104.7 per cent in volume and 152.3 per cent in value over the same period last year.
In the first 7 months of this year, the country’s import of CBU automobile of all kinds from China reached over 18,000 units, up by 204 per cent; from South Korea – 14,200 units, up by 54.3 per cent; from Thailand – 12,100 units, up by 99.2 per cent; from India – 8,500 units, up by 77.5 per cent year – on – year.
Fertilizer of all kinds: The import of fertilizer of all kinds hit 466,000 tons worth of $ 140 million in July and 2.53 million tons worth of $ 795 billion in the first 7 months of this year.
The major import markets of fertilizer of all kinds in the first 7 months of this year were China with 1.26 million tons, up by 14.7 per cent year – on – year; Russia– 267,000 tons, up by 14.9 per cent; and Belarus – 182,000 tons, up by 27.6 per cent.
