AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam earned US$ 3.2 billion from export of goods to Japan in the first three months of this year, down by 10.66 per cent over the same period last year, according to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

Japan was the country’s third biggest export market of Vietnam after China and the U.S.

The major commodities exported by the country to Japan included textiles and garments; means of transport and spare parts; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, leading by textiles and garments with the export turnover of $ 635.9 million, accounted for 19.4 per cent of the total and increased by 7.87 per cent year – on – year.

In the first three months of this year, the country’s export of almost all items to Japan saw growth. The export of cassava and products rocketed by 823.02 per cent; that of cell phones and accessories – up by 159.98 per cent; cashew nuts – up by 120.18 per cent; and ores and minerals – up by 101.71 per cent.
