Bivalve exports to the EU ups 10.5%
Saturday, April 25,2015AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam bivalve export in Q1/2015 totaled US$ 17 million, up 8.8% year on year.
The EU, occupying 68.23% of total bivalve exports from Vietnam, continues to be the leading importing market with US$ 11.64 million, up 10.5%. Top 3 largest import markets in the EU includes Portugal, Spain and Italy with growth rates of 54%, negative 4.6% and 26.7%, repectively.
Sales reached US$ 2.6 million, revealing a 54% year on year increase. As the major bivalve supplier to Portugal, Vietnam occupies 37-44% of the market share, higher than both Spain and New Zealand.
Therefore, opportunities are still open for Vietnamese bivalve exporters.
