Over US$ 1.7 billion worth of goods imported from South Korea
Wednesday, March 19,2014AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s import of goods from South Korea reached US$ 1.71 billion in January of this year, up by 0.07 per cent over the previous month and by 4.07 per cent over the same month of last year.
There were 5 leading items imported from South Korea, included computer, electronic products and components - $ 400.54 million, up by 8.95 per cent; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts - $ 227.8 million, up by 11.66 per cent; telephones of all kinds and components - $ 157.72 million, down by 19.42 per cent; petroleum - $ 146.17 million, up by 131.07 per cent; cloth of all kinds - $ 111.98 million, down by 8.49 per cent.
In the first month of this year, the import of petroleum from South Korea increased sharply by 131 per cent year – on – year to $ 146.17 million; that of wood and furniture – up by 97 per cent; ordinary metals – up by 73.96 per cent; ordinary metal products – up by 71.81 per cent.
However, the import of fertilizer fell by 98.17 per cent; that of oil products; milk; precious stones, and gas also decreased sharply by 76.56 per cent; 68 per cent; 42.53 per cent; 43.35 per cent; and 52.6 per cent, respectively over the same month of last year.
