Vietnam increased imports of iron and steel from India in 2019

AsemconnectVietnam - India is now Vietnam's 9th largest trading partner in Asia. According to the statistics figure of the General Department of Customs, the total import value of goods from the Indian market in 2019 increased by 9.41 per cent compared to the previous year to reach 4.53 billion USD.
Vietnam increased imports of iron and steel of all kinds in 2019, bringing the turnover of this commodity group to 1.1 billion USD, accounting for a major market share of 24.25 per cent of the total import turnover, up by 180.3 per cent compared to the previous year.
There were 13 commodity groups with import value up to hundreds of millions of USD, such as: machinery, equipment, tools and other spare parts reaching 412 million USD; Automobile components and spare parts reached 175.24 million USD; Precious stones, precious metals and products reached 160.33 million USD; Textile, garment, leather and shoe materials reached USD 102.35 million, etc.
The next were 11 commodity groups with a turnover of tens of millions of USD, of which the CBU car group increased strongly by 853.75 per cent over the previous year to reach 67.57 million USD. The imports of computers, electronic products and components also increased by 92.29 per cent to 58.74 million USD.
The lowest proportion of wheat group with 0.01 per cent of the total, reaching 325,338 USD, but it had a strong growth of 11 times equivalent to 1092.15 per cent over the previous year.
