International travel expo returns to HCM City in 15th edition
Friday, September 6,2019AsemconnectVietnam - The 15th International Travel Expo HCM City (ITE HCMC), the largest travel event in the Mekong sub-region, opened its door to welcome tourism and travel community at the Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) on September 5.
In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen said this is a good opportunity to popularise Vietnamese people and culture to international friends.
After 15 years, the annual event has affirmed its prestige in the region, and attracted hundreds of exhibitors and tens of thousands of international visitors, he added.
The ITE HCMC is certified as a national tourism event, held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the support of the tourism alliance of five countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam) in the Mekong River basin.
This year expo, themed “Travel Gateway to Asia”, attracts 315 domestic and foreign booths introducing excellent tourism products and destinations in Vietnam and other countries in the Asia-Pacific.
Particularly, the organising board arranged a special area for tourism startups, and helped them seek investors and partners.
Ten seminars and forums are scheduled during the three-day expo on various topics such as medical tourism, solo travellers, smart tourism development in HCM City, Vietnam-Russia tourism cooperation, Vietnam-Middle East tourism cooperation, and startup tourism. Joining the activities, visitors would find beneficial in keeping abreast of current travel trends.
As registration for the seminars and forums will go paperless, participants and visitors should find more detailed information on website https://tourismevents.vn/home.
An official mobile application of the travel expo was officially introduced, helping visitors have easy access to standout events.
