Monday, January 1,2018AsemconnectVietnam - The Vietnam - Australia friendship mural village in Tinh Thoi commune, Cao Lanh city of the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap is expected to draw more visitors to the locality.
Vice Chairman of the Cao Lanh People’s Committee Vo Phan Thanh Minh said the two-kilometre art project, which runs along Tien River, was funded by the Australian Embassy in Vietnam.
There are over 60 mural paintings drawn by 30 artists from Australia and Ho Chi Minh City as well as students of Dong Thap-based universities, with images of lotus flowers and tangerine gardens in Dong Thap and Australia’s symbols such as kangaroos and koala bears.
The inauguration of the Vietnam-Australia friendship mural village is scheduled for early January 2018. The village, along with Cao Lanh bridge connecting Mekong Delta’s central region, reflects the close relations between Vietnam and Australia.
The bridge was built at a total cost of 3 trillion VND (132.12 million USD), including 160 million AUD (124.83 million USD) of non-refundable aid from the Australian Government.
