Exhibition of Italian artist Raphael’s masterpieces in Hanoi
Friday, June 2,2017AsemconnectVietnam - As many as 35 digitised reproductions of Italian Renaissance artist Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, better known as Raphael, will be displayed in Hanoi, beginning on June 2, to celebrate Italy’s Republic Day.
The digitised works of art, which are the same size as the artist’s original paintings, have already been exhibited at several museums in Europe.
This is the first time the exhibition is held in Vietnam, and organisers hope to draw the attention of the public, particularly young people, to Italian art and culture.
The exhibition will be held at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Cau Giay District’s Nguyen Van Huyen Street for one month, from June 2.
At the opening ceremony, artists from the Volterra Chess Flags Association will perform.
The works of Raphael (1483-1520), known as the architect of the High Renaissance, are admired for clarity of form, ease of composition, and as a visual achievement of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur.
Together with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael forms the trinity of the great masters of that period.
