Palanquin procession to commemorate Hung Kings
Wednesday, April 5,2017AsemconnectVietnam - A palanquin procession was solemnly held in Phu Tho province on April 4 as part of the Hung Kings Temple Festival. The traditional ritual has been preserved for thousands of years, becoming a good chance for people to commemorate the founders of the nation.
This year event drew the participation of people in five local communes. Each commune prepared their own specialties as offerings to the Hung Kings, showing their gratitude to the ancestors.
The procession attracted a huge crowd of locals and visitors who play a role in preserving the traditional folklore culture.
Experiencing for thousands of years, the palanquin procession has become a custom, and cultural identity that are an indispensable part of the Hung Kings Temple Festival.
Each ritual of Hung Kings worship plays a role in reminding Vietnamese people of their ancestors’ great merits to the nation.
