Tuesday, September 25,2018AsemconnectVietnam - CJ Vina Agri Company, a subsidiary of CJ Group, on September 21 held an inauguration ceremony for a US$13.6 million animal feed plant in the central province of Binh Dinh.
The plant covers an area of 41,000 square meters at Nhon Hoa Industrial Park, An Nhon Town in the province, with a designed annual capacity of 72,000 tons.
This is the sixth animal feed plant launched by CJ Group in Vietnam, besides two in South Korea, nine in China, six in Indonesia, two in the Philippines and one in Cambodia. CJ Group also has four R&D centers in South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam and China.
In addition, CJ Vina Agri is building a factory in the Mekong Delta region, bringing the total number of animal food processing plants to seven in the coming period.
“For CJ Group, Vietnam was selected as the most important strategic investment location for concentrating our investment and development resources,” said Lee Tae Ki, general director of the Biological Resource Business of CJ Cheil Jedang (Korea). “CJ Group is dedicated to maximizing its investments to achieve the medium and long-term objectives of the Great CJ Plan 2020,” he added.
Chang Bok Sang, chairman of CJ Group in Vietnam, had previously shared a similar sentiment, noting the group’s targeted global revenue was US$100 billion: “And Vietnam is our bright spot in achieving that goal.”
Meanwhile, Kim Sun Kang, general director of CJ Vina Agri added that CJ Group has now moved to a new chapter and that the role and mission of the future CJ Group is located in Vietnam.
The group aims to become a global company that is customer-oriented and actively contributes to the development of the livestock industry in general and the animal feed sector of Vietnam in particular.
It has also brought the technical know-how of the industry from operations in Korea to Vietnam.
CJ Vina Agri started operations in Vietnam in 2001 with the launch of the Long An plant. Hung Yen – the second factory in northern Vietnam -- was inaugurated in 2006. In 2008, CJ Vina Agri built the Vinh Long factory, which specializes in the production of fish feed. In 2015, CJ Group inaugurated the Dong Nai factory. By January this year, the Ha Nam factory was put into operation. Today, the sixth plant, the Binh Dinh factory, was officially inaugurated.
