Thanh Khue Private Enterprise Bringing Vietnamese Handicrafts to the World
Monday, May 7,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Using handicrafts input materials from the countryside, Thanh Khue Private Enterprise is a typical example of a Vietnamese company seeking to bring high-quality, well-branded products to consumers. Now, all products are directly exported to the international market. The result is a prime example of unity (of more than 200 employees).
Vietnam has available material and labour advantages to develop bamboo and rattan products. However, the market share of Vietnamese bamboo and rattan products in the world market is very small. Seeing this potential, Nguyen Thi Khue, Director of Thanh Khue Private Enterprise, introduced a wide range of impressive bamboo and rattan products to consumers. “At the first stage (from 2002), the enterprise produced only rattan and bamboo products for exporters. In 2004, Thanh Khue attended a bamboo and rattan fair in Frankfurt (Germany), held twice a year in February and August. At that time, we brought our traditional key products made from banana and water hyacinth plants. Thanh Khue introduced banana raw materials, which drew interest from European consumers. So, they signed export contracts. It has been over 15 years since the company exports its products to the international market,” he said.
In that process, training human resources and improving skills for workers is essential as it is decisive to the company’s competitiveness. Especially when Khanh Hoa province develops real estate and tourism, difficulties emerge as a result of labour mobility. Therefore, in the coming time, the enterprise will pay attention to the spiritual and material life of employees to assure them and attract new skilful labourers. It has continually approached the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the current trend featuring automation and data exchange in manufacturing technology. Specifically, in 2017, Thanh Khue did not hesitate to focus on modern machinery and equipment, investing in four robots to replace humans in key steps. “In order to sustain the development of bamboo and rattan industry, input supply and close cooperation between handicraft villages and artisans are extremely important. Thanh Khue will always focus on training and technical transfer for employees and particularly control every step of production to have the best products,” Khue added.
