The company has invested millions of U.S. dollars in Ford Hai Duong plant, one of its six facilities that manufacture Ford EcoSport vehicles in the world, to upgrade the production line.

“The new Ford EcoSport model is the outcome of months of research and hard work, with the global cooperation between Ford’s engineers and managers from Brazil to the U.K., Germany, Australia and ASEAN, including Vietnam,” said Pham Van Dung, general director of Ford Vietnam. 

According to Dung, the new EcoSport model in Vietnam is equipped with 3-cylinder 1.0-litre Ecoboost or 3-cylinder 1.5-litre Dragon petrol engine, 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission, SYNC 3 connectivity system, rear view camera and many other smart features.

EcoSport vehicles produced at Ford Hai Duong plant will be delivered to customers in March with five versions and eight colors.

Over the past 20 years, Ford Vietnam has sold more than 150,000 units. Ford Vietnam now has 36 branches and agents nationwide with more than 700 direct employees.

Ben Thanh-Tay Ninh Automobile Corporation, a new authorized dealer of Ford Vietnam, yesterday inaugurated a modern auto showroom and maintenance service center worth over US$3 million in the southern province of Tay Ninh.

Tay Ninh Ford in Hiep Tan Commune, Hoa Thanh District, Tay Ninh Province is an official distributor for Ford Vietnam. The facility has the most up-to-date equipment of the Ford system in Vietnam, according to the investor.

Pham Ngoc Than, head of Tay Ninh Ford, said the US$3-million facility covering over 4,000 square meters meets the latest standards of “Trustmark” and “Quality Care” which establish standardization in the brand recognition system of the U.S.-based Ford Motor Company all over the world.

Than stressed that the facility is able to accommodate 60 cars for maintenance and repair on a daily basis.

Tay Ninh Ford offers one-stop shopping for its customers, including new car sales and used car exchange; car maintenance, repair and warranty; and genuine auto part and accessory provision, he added.

Tay Ninh Ford has become the 24th official dealer of Ford Vietnam which holds a local market share of 10.5%.
