Built in a 3,000-square-meter site next to Panasonic’s existing factory in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park II (VSIP II), the new factory which costs one million yen (US$8.9 million) is expected to annually manufacture some 53 million wiring devices and 13 million circuit breakers.

These products are for the Vietnamese market and other Southeast Asian countries.

Thanks to the presence of Panasonic, Vietnam has shifted from importing to manufacturing and exporting wiring devices and circuit breakers.

In November 2014, the company opened its first wiring device and circuit breaker factory in Binh Duong after Vietnam had relied on imports of these products from Thailand and Indonesia for 20 years.

The factory is forecast to obtain total revenue of nearly VND2.3 trillion (US$0.1 billion) this year.
