Vietjet opens three air routes between Vietnam and Thailand
Tuesday, December 19,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Low-cost carrier Vietjet has recently opened three new air links between Vietnam and Thailand to meet the increasing travel demand.
Vietjet on December 15 held a ceremony at Tan Son Nhat International Airport to inaugurate two new routes connecting HCMC and Thailand’s tourist destinations of Phuket and Chiang Mai.
HCMC-Phuket flights are operated every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday with a flying time of around two hours. Flights depart from HCMC at 10:15 a.m. and arrive in Phuket at 12:10 p.m. Return flights take off at 1:05 p.m. in Phuket and land in HCMC at 3:10 p.m.
The airline operates HCMC-Chiang Mai flights every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday with each lasting around two hours. Flights depart from HCMC at 11:35 a.m. and arrive in Chiang Mai at 1:30 p.m. Return flights take off at 2:20 p.m. in Chiang Mai and land in HCMC at 4:25 p.m.
The carrier will also launch a new service between Dalat and Bangkok cities today using Airbus A320s with four weekly flights.
Flights will depart from Bangkok at 10:45 a.m. and return there from Dalat at 12:45 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with a flying time of 1 hour 45 minutes.
Following the launch of the Dalat-Bangkok route, Vietjet now has a total of six direct services between Vietnam and Thailand, including four routes connecting Bangkok with Hanoi, Haiphong, HCMC and Dalat, and two routes connecting HCMC with Phuket and Chiang Mai.
The new air routes are expected to contribute to boosting tourism and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Vietjet now has a fleet of 48 A320 and A321 aircraft and operates more than 350 flights a day. It has so far served nearly 50 million passengers on 78 domestic and international routes.
