An Dien General Trading Co., Ltd, founded in 1996, is led by Ms Lien - a famous entrepreneur who used to be a teacher. When her husband died and her family business was on the brink of collapse, she decided to take on the business. In the first days, records and reports distressed her. Thinking of her family, she reminded herself to be tougher, stronger and firmer. Without any business experience, she attended all short-term training courses on business administration, accounting, marketing and other business affairs and joined business associations such as the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Young Business Association, Da Nang SMEs Association, the Women Entrepreneurs Association and Da Nang Scientific and Economics Association.

To date, An Dien General Trading Co., Ltd has asserted its position on the market. The company is now a distributor for famous companies such as Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company (DRC), Vietnam Chemicals and Lubricants Joint Stock Company (Motul) and Michelin Vietnam Company. The firm also distributes car accessories, tyres, batteries, lubricants and car services (24/24 mobile tyre replacement, automatic tyre replacement, nitrogen gas pump, wheel calibration using nanotechnology, lubricant replacement, windshield wiper replacement, battery replacement and wheel ruler calibration). Particularly, in 2013, the company launched “Michelin Tyre Service Centre” at 96 Dien Bien Phu Street, Da Nang City. Powered by modern equipment and technology, the centre provides customers with the best car services, making them drive safely, comfortably and peacefully on the street. On February 2, 2015, the company opened the Truck Tyre Service Centre at 530 Nguyen Luong Bang Street, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City to offer perfect services to customers.

An Dien General Trading Co., Ltd has actively assisted the poor, orphans and people with disabilities for more than 10 years. An Dien has left fine impressions on partners, customers and other businesses in the locality. “My recruitment is totally different from others. Orphans will be added 60 per cent of priority. I also give opportunities for people with disabilities. I arrange suitable jobs for them to earn a living. Recently, President of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC) Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh came to Da Nang to ask An Dien General Trading Co., Ltd to set up a social enterprise, which will give 51 per cent of earnings for charity and use 49 per cent for business continuation,” Ms Lien said.

Humanity 
Ms Lien is currently the Chairwoman of Thanh Khe Business Association and the only businesswoman of Da Nang City to win two Golden Rose Cups (2010 and 2013) from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). At the 5th National Meeting in honour of the disabled, orphans and patrons held in April 2016 in Hanoi, she was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs. Not only creating jobs for ill-fated people, she also presents gifts to the poor in distant localities like Tay Giang and Hiep Duc (Quang Nam province) and builds houses of gratitude for policy beneficiaries in Thanh Khe and neighbouring districts.

“In addition to the will and the insight of the leadership, employees are the solid support for me and the company to move forward on the right track. Apart from focusing on professional training for staff, we also improve modern technologies and machines like tyre machines, nitrogen gas pumps and advanced calibrators imported from the United States. We will further develop these services in the future,” she said. To meet increasing customer needs, An Dien General Trading Co., Ltd introduced some car toys and gadgets. The company will further develop these services in the future.

She said, “I want to prove to the whole society that disabled people can still work. As for this work, I have nothing to worry about and I only try to do what I think it is right and is reasonable to Vietnamese people.” Currently, Lien possesses a land plot covering 10,000 square metres in Hoa Phu commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang, not far from Than Tai Mountain tourist site. It faces a spring and leans on a small hill. She plans to set up a social enterprise on this land plot.
Vietnam is an emerging automobile market. Besides, Vietnam is now having a golden population, with a rapid increase of the middle class - potential car buyers. The demand for the four-wheeler in Da Nang City is even higher as it is a tourist city. “Seeing this trend, the company will expand its car care services, especially luxury brands.
