Vietjet to launch Hanoi-Yangon route

 Thursday, May 18,2017

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s low-cost carrier Vietjet will launch a new air service connecting Hanoi and Myanmar’s Yangon on August 31 to cash in on growing travel, tourism and trade ties between the two countries.

The airline will operate daily flights on the new run with a flying time of one hour and 55 minutes. Flights depart from Hanoi at 12:05 and arrive in Yangon at 13:30 (local time). Return flights take off in Yangon at 14:30 (local time) and arrive in Hanoi at 16:55.

This is the second route to Myanmar operated by Vietjet after HCMC-Yangon service. The new route is expected to help boost trade and investment cooperation between the two ASEAN nations.

Vietjet plans to expand its flight network in the Asia-Pacific region by launching more services and purchase more modern aircraft.

At present, the carrier has 45 A320 and A321 planes operating 350 flights a day on 63 routes in Vietnam and to Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia and Cambodia.
