Vietnam Airlines to add 11,000 seats for Tet

AsemconnectVietnam - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will offer an additional 11,000 seats, equivalent to 56 flights, on its seven domestic routes to meet the rising travel demand during the upcoming Lunar New Year, or Tet.

The airline will use A321 aircraft for the additional flights connecting HCMC with Haiphong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Danang, Hue, Quang Nam and Phu Quoc Island.

The increase in the number of flights will allow more passengers to fly home during the Tet holiday.

The carrier will raise the frequency of its flights linking HCMC and some provinces and cities in the northern region and Central Vietnam, as 80%-90% of its seats on busy routes departing from HCMC are already full.

In November last year, Vietnam Airlines announced that it and Jetstar Pacific would offer a total of 2.23 million seats, equivalent to 12,000 domestic flights, to serve the Tet holiday, which is the peak travel season.

At this time, passengers are advised to arrive at airports at least two hours prior to their departure time to complete the check-in process.

Passengers should also check in on the airline’s website www.vietnamairlines.com, mobile app or at check-in kiosks at airports to save time.

Besides this, Vietnam Airlines has advised passengers to book tickets through the airline’s website or ticketing agents and to request invoices to avoid buying fake or overpriced tickets.
