AsemconnectVietnam - The 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Customs Directors-General and Commissioners Meeting will be held in Ha Long city in northeastern Quang Ninh province from October 9-10.

Deputy General Director of Viet Nam Customs Mai Xuan Thanh said that the organisation of the meeting aims to fulfill member obligations of Viet Nam within the framework of ASEM.
It is expected to witness the participation of 53 delegations led by directors-general and commissioners of customs agencies of ASEM member countries as well as Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), and representatives of the European Union and embassies of ASEM member countries in Viet Nam.

The ASEM Customs Directors-General and Commissioners Meeting acts as a forum to guide working groups to implement action plans as approved by Directors-General of ASEM customs.

The event will focus on four areas of trade facilitation and supply chain security, fighting counterfeit goods and intellectual property rights enforcement, social and environmental protection, and community connection and ASEM vision.
The participants will deliberate these priorities to build specific action programs to include in the ASEM customs action plan for 2020-2021.
