Slovakia welcomes Vietnamese IT firms’ investment
Friday, December 2,2016AsemconnectVietnam - Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has said he welcomes Vietnamese IT companies’ investment in his country, pledging the best possible condition for them to carry out investment plans.
He made the remark while receiving Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan, who is on a working visit to the central European nation from November 30 to December 1.
Fico said Slovakia and Vietnam will augment cooperation to lift bilateral relations to a new height, adding that his country has completed preparations for the establishment of an inter-governmental committee on economic cooperation with Vietnam in the first half of 2017.
Meanwhile, Minister Tuan announced that Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is to pay an official visit to Slovakia in 2017 at the invitation of the Slovak Government.
He quoted PM Phuc as saying that Vietnam considers Slovakia as a traditional and very important partner and believes the two countries’ multifaceted cooperation will be intensified in an effective and practical manner in the time ahead.
Tuan and Slovak Deputy PM Peter Pellegrini inked a memorandum of understanding on IT cooperation, focusing on cyber security, between the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and the Slovak Deputy PM’s Office.
They also witnessed the signing of an agreement on setting a joint venture between VNPT-Technology (a subsidiary of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group VNPT) and Slovakia’s Danubia Tel company.
Pellegrini said this is an important step in IT cooperation, noting that IT is an important sector in both economies.
During his stay, Tuan had a working session with Robert Simoncic – an official at the Slovak Ministry of Economy, and engaged in talks with officials of the Slovak Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development.
He also attended a Vietnam-Slovakia IT business forum.
