Vietnam's Jan-April rice exports dip to 2.04 mln tons

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam's rice exports in the first four months of 2015 are estimated to have eased 0.5 percent from a year ago to 2.04 million tonnes, the government said on Friday.

Revenue from shipments of the grain in January-April would reach an estimated $888 million, down 5.0 percent from the same period last year, the General Statistics Office said in its monthly report.

Vietnam, the world's third-largest rice exporter after India and Thailand, is projected to export 6.5 million tonnes of the grain in 2015, unchanged from the previous year, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization said in a report.
