In January of 2020, Vietnam's merchandise export turnover to this market decreased by 24.76 per cent over the same period last year to 1.38 billion USD.

The main export commodity groups of our country to Korea were phones and components; computers, electronic products and components; textiles and garments, etc. with the turnover of hundreds of millions of dollars.

In particular, the group of phones and accessories led with 335.41 million USD, accounting for 24.23 per cent of the total market share, although the figure was up by 34.22 per cent compared to the previous month, but down by 31.29 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The second was textile and garment group with 225.85 million USD, capturing 16.32 per cent of the total market share, dropping strongly by 30.69 per cent year – on - year. The exports of computers, electronic products and components also decreased by 18.33 per cent to 217.14 million USD, meanwhile, the exports of the group of machines, equipment and other spare parts fell slightly by 1.06 per cent to 134.79 million USD.

The exports of iron and steel of all kinds; gasoline of all kinds; ore and other minerals dropped sharply by 50.47 per cent to 10.33 million; 86.96 per cent to reach 2.28 million USD; and 99.95 per cent to reach 573 USD, respectively.

The strongest increase over the same period was the fertilizer group with an increase of 220.54 per cent to 157,514 USD.
