Vietnam’s exports of goods to Germany and Netherlands

AsemconnectVietnam - In 2019, Vietnam’s exports of goods to Germany decreased slightly over the year of 2018, according to the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

The country’s exports of goods to the Netherlands also fell slightly year – on – year.

Vietnam’s total export turnover of goods to the German market in 2019 decreased slightly by 4.57 per cent compared to the previous year to 6.55 billion USD, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
There were two groups of goods with the export turnover of more than 1 billion USD, accounting for the major market share in total exports to this market. Mobile phones and components accounted for 25.28 per cent, accounting for 1.65 billion USD, down by 14.72 per cent compared to the previous year; footwear of all kinds had a market share of 15.34 per cent reaching over 1 billion USD, up by 6.53 per cent over the previous year.

The other two groups of items with the export value of over 500 million USD, including textile and garment products with 808.12 million USD, up by 1.35 per cent; computers, electronic products and components reached 522.6 million USD, down by 13.76 per cent compared to 2018. In addition, there were also 8 other commodity groups with export value of the whole year reaching hundreds of million USD, most of were slightly up from the previous year.
Paper and paper products were commodity groups with a small proportion of 0.09 per cent with 5.91 million USD but it had a strong growth of 169.2 per cent over the previous. The export of tea reached only 706,797 USD, a sharp decrease of 63.91 per cent compared to 2018.

Vietnam's export turnover of goods to the Netherlands in December decreased slightly by 6.4 per cent compared to the previous month, reaching only 628.96 million USD, according to the statistics figure of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
The country’s total export turnover of the whole year of 2019 to the Netherlands decreased by 2.76 per cent compared to the previous year, reaching 6.88 billion USD.
Computers, electronic products and components and mobile phones of all kinds and components, accounted for 23.49 per cent and 17.68 per cent respectively, valued at over 1 billion USD, all decreased slightly over the previous year.

Among commodity items exported to the Netherlands last year, there were 8 commodity groups with export value of hundreds of millions of USD, of which 4 groups grew slightly and 4 groups decreased over the previous year.
In 2019, the Netherlands stepped up the imports of Vietnamese camcorders and components, making the export value of this group grow strongly by 283.73 per cent compared to the previous year. Other ordinary metals and products; chemical products; and rice were the 3 groups with the lowest value of less than 10 million USD.
