Exports to Brazil increased slightly in first seven months

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the preliminary statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's exports of goods to Brazil in July of 2019 reached 180.69 million USD, up by 0.21 per cent compared to June of 2019 and up by 20.18 per cent compared to July of 2018.

The figure brought the country’stotal exports of goods to Brazil in the first 7 months of 2019 to 1.21 billion USD, up by 2.6 per cent over the same period of 2018.
The main items exported by Vietnam to Brazil in the first seven months of this year included telephones and components, accounting for 7.37 per cent of the total with the export turnover of 455.33 million USD, but compared with the same period, it was down by 0.66 per cent. In July of 2019 alone, the country’s exports of goods to Brazil reached 68.31 million USD, up by 2.66 per cent compared to June of 2019 and up by 45.33 per cent compared to July of 2018.

Meanwhile, the country’s exports of machinery and equipment to Brazil in the first 7 months of this year reached 122.87 million USD, up by 22.01 per cent compared to the first 7 months of 2018. Particularly in July of 2019, the country’s exports of goods to Brazil reached 11.89 million USD, down by 45.73 per cent over the previous month and by 18.29 per cent compared to July of 2018.

The next were computers, electronic products, shoes, textile fibers, means of transport and spare parts, etc.
In general, from the beginning of the year to the end of July 2019, Vietnam's exports of most items to Brazil market saw growth, those items accounted for 57.8 per cent of the total. The exports of iron and steel to Brazial increased by 2.8 times (ie, increasing by 178.6 per cent) in volume and by 2.7 times (or by 166.9 per cent) in value, although the average export price decreased by 4.2 per cent to only 905.54 USD per ton, equivalent to 5,500 tons, worth of over 5 million USD.

Particularly in July of 2019, Vietnam also exported to Brazil 43 tons of iron and steel of all kinds, valued at 49,600 USD with the average export price of 1155.35 USD per ton, down by 98.81 per cent in volume and 98, 47 per cent of the value, but the average price increased by 28.92 per cent compared to June of 2019. If compared with July 2018, the figure increased by 95.45 per cent in volume and 109.09 per cent in value, and the average price increased by 6.98 per cent.
In the opposite direction, Brazil sharply reduced its imports of textile and footwear materials from Vietnam with a turnover of 6.31 million USD, down by 31.78 per cent over the same period of 2018. In July of 2019 alone, the country’s exports of textile and footwear materials to Brazil decreased by 5.55 per cent compared to June of 2019 but increased by 17.02 per cent compared to July of 2018 to reach 563,800 USD.
