AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam is the 13th largest mango supply market for the United States. In 2023, average price of imported mangoes from Vietnam reached 3,189.9 USD/tonne, an increase of 26% compared to 2022.

Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) cited statistics from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), saying that the United States' demand for importing all kinds of mangoes is increasing in a period of 2019 - 2023, with an average growth rate of 8.1% in value.
In 2023, the United States' import of all kinds of mangoes reached 746,400 tonnes, worth 1.11 billion USD, down 4.6% in volume and down 0.8% in value compared to 2022. Price of imported mangoes of all kinds reached an average of 1,486.9 USD/tonne, an increase of 4% compared to 2022.
The United States imports all kinds of mangoes mainly from Mexican market in 2023, accounting for 61.3% of total mango imports, reaching 457,900 tonnes, worth 583.6 million USD, an increase of 1.2% in terms of quantity and an increase of 2.3% in value compared to 2022. Vietnam is the 13th largest mango supply market for the United States. Amount of mangoes imported from Vietnam accounts for only a very low proportion. However the United States imports mangoes from Vietnam to increase sharply in both volume and value in 2023. Average price of imported mangoes from Vietnam reached 3,189.9 USD/tonne, up 26% compared to 2022.
Fresh mangoes is the main type imported by the United States in 2023. Fresh mango imports account for 74.2% of total amount of all kinds of mangoes, reaching 554,200 tonne, worth 571.4 million USD, down 3.6 % in volume and down 2.9% in value compared to 2022. The United States imports fresh mangoes mainly from the Mexican and Peru markets.
The next is processed mango category, reaching 105,800 tonnes, worth 199.1 million USD, down 10.5% in volume and down 0.5% in value compared to 2022; Frozen mango reached 65,300 tonnes, worth 137.1 million USD, down 5.9% in volume and down 9.7% in value; Dried mango reached 18,800 tonnes, worth 180.2 million USD, up 9.1% in volume and 19.7% in value...
The United States imports from Vietnam mainly frozen and fresh mangoes in 2023. Out of which, frozen mango imports reach 643 tonnes, worth 988,000 USD, an increase of 84.7% in volume and an increase of 82,9% in value compared to 2022; Fresh mango imports reached 500 tonnes, worth 1.4 million USD, up 16.7% in volume and 38.2% in value. However, import volume of both types of mango accounts for a very low proportion of total US imports.
