AsemconnectVietnam - On Thursday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by 700 VND to VND65,800 – VND66,600 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.

Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND66,600/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND65,800/kg. Robusta coffee rose to VND65,800/kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND66,500 – VND66,600 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND66,600- VND66,700 in Dak Nong; to VND66,100 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND66,100 - VND66,200 per kg in Gia Lai.
According to Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee, by the beginning of 2023, the province’s coffee growing area is more than 212,912 hectares (accounting for 32.37% of agricultural land). In particular, the coffee output alone is more than 550,000 tonnes (accounting for 1/3 of the total output of the country).
Currently, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province in particular and the whole Central Highlands in general is fluctuating from 65,000 to 68,000 VND/kg, the highest in the past 3 years. This is good news for farmers who are clinging to and exploiting the benefits of coffee.
Vietnam's General Department of Customs reported today that Vietnam coffee exports in the first eight months of this year (Jan-Aug) fell -4.9% y/y to 1.207 MMT. Also, Vietnam's coffee harvest this year is expected to drop more than -7% to 1.67 MMT, the smallest crop in four years, according to a Bloomberg survey of exporters and traders released on May 3.
