 Friday, August 11,2023

AsemconnectVietnam - On Friday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area fell by 200 VND to VND66,900 – VND67,700 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.

Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND67,700/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND66,900/kg. Robusta coffee fell to VND66,900/kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND67,400 – VND67,500 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND67,600- VND67,700 in Dak Nong; to VND67,000 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND66,900 - VND67,000 per kg in Gia Lai.
The price of coffee fell due to Brazil's release of export data for July 2023. Accordingly, Brazil's coffee exports in July 2023 increased by 22%, reaching 2.7 million bags, of which Robusta tripled with 505 thousand bags. The Arabica harvest in Brazil's leading producer is entering the final stage with favorable climate conditions and the upcoming supply is expected to flood the market. Brazilian farmers have now harvested 80% of the crop, with a growth outlook of 7.5%.
The price of Robusta coffee decreased because the market received the July coffee export data report from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, reaching 108,872 tonnes (about 1,814 million bags), down 7.60% over the same period last year. Previously, it was only 3.43% lower than coffee exports in the first 7 months of calendar year 2022, but 36.09% higher than the initial export estimate of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.
