AsemconnectVietnam - In the first six months of 2023, Vietnam’s export turnover of textiles and garments reached 15.73 billion USD, down by 15.1% over the same period of 2022.

According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s exports of textiles and garments in June of 2023 increased by 4.9% compared to May of 2023 but decreased by 14.7% compared to June of 2022, reaching 3.06 billion USD. For the whole 6 months of 2023, the total turnover reached 15.73 billion USD, down by 15.1% over the same period of 2022;
In which, the exports of textiles and garments of FDI enterprises reached 9.59 billion USD, accounting for 61% of the total export turnover of this commodity group of the country, down by 15.5% over the same period of 2022.
Vietnam's textile and garment exports to the US always ranked first in terms of turnover, reaching 6.96 billion USD, accounting for 44.2% of the country's total textile and garment export turnover, down by 25.4% over the same period last year. The exports to the EU ranked second in turnover, reaching 1.88 billion USD, accounting for 11.9%, down by 10.3%; and then it followed by the Japanese market, reaching over 1.75 billion USD, accounting for 11.1%, up by 4.9%. The next was the Korean market with 1.34 billion USD, accounting for 8.5%, down slightly by 1.9% and to Canada reached 572.13 million USD, accounting for 3.6%, down by 13.3% over the same period of 2022.
Textile and garment exports to the Southeast Asian market accounted for 5.8%, reaching over 911.16 million USD, down by 10.5% compared to the first 6 months of 2022.
Textile and garment exports to China accounted for 3% of the total turnover, reaching 484.82 million USD, down by 10.3%.
